I am consistently amazed by how long people hold out before they get help with their private student loan problems. Many of my clients endure abusive phone calls and make every payment they can toward debts that they have no hope of repaying for years on end before they finally decide to seek help. Others invest tens of hours trying to work out deals with student loan lenders only to be turned away again and again.
What We Do
We deal only with private student loans. We cannot help you consolidate your federal loans, renegotiate your rates, or challenge their validity. If you have private loans that are ineligible for any federal program and you need help, call us so that we can determine the next logical step.
Here’s a bit about my background as both an Oregon and Washington Student Loan attorney. I received my undergraduate degree at the University of Arizona in 1995, and my law degree from Lewis and Clark in 1999. Since then, I’ve been admitted to practice law in both Oregon and Washington.
I am a member of several professional associations, including:
- Oregon State Bar, 2000- Present
- Washington State Bar, 2004 – Present
- Better Business Bureau
- National Association of Consumer Advocates
- Graduate, Joshua Cohen’s Student Loan Seminar
- National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys
- Graduate, Fair Debt Collections Practices Act Boot Camp
- Federal Bar Association
I have successfully supervised well over two thousand consumer cases across both Oregon and Washington. Before leaving to start up my own practice, I opened and managed law offices for the largest national consumer law firm in Portland, Seattle, Vancouver, Salem and Eugene. Over the years, I have helped countless people across both Oregon and Washington lower student loan payment obligations, save their homes and businesses, and discharge tens of millions of dollars of debt. I have been practicing law for fourteen years.
When I am not at the office, I spend most of my time at home in NE Portland with my wife, Nikki, along with both our golden retriever, Mayzie, and our son, Simon. Prior to the birth of our son, I had any number of hobbies and pastimes. These days, I pretty much just run errands.
I am sure that we can find a way to lighten your private student loan burden. I look forward to meeting with you and helping you figure out the next logical step.
